Taken By Surprise ... November 29, 2014

 Saturday started out with working all day clearing snow that had fallen thru the night  ... 

wanting to make sure the driveway was ploughed ... 

so that I was able to get in and out ... before the next snowfall ...

I came into the house and decided to have a quiet dinner ... 

before changing out of my work clothes ... then enjoy a luxurious bath ... 

before heading to bed ...

Mike had contacted me via FaceTime while I was having dinner ... we were enjoying our visit ... Mike feeling bad that he was not able to be home for my Birthday ...

when I saw car lights coming up the driveway ... 

Now I had closed the gate,  so not to be disturbed ... I set my computer down to go check it out ...

thought maybe the neighbours were having a party and a few of their friends 

drove in the wrong driveway ...

I turned on the outside light ... thinking they realized they had made a mistake ... 

and saw them leave  ... ( duh ... they were just parking)

I went back into the living room to talk to Mike again and then I saw a stream of headlights ...

I finally clued in to what was happening .... Mike had arranged a surprise party for me ... with the help of some of our friends ... SURPRISE ... !!!

In they all came ... with decorations ... food and copious amounts of refreshments ...

It was wonderful to have Mike on the computer to see all the activities ... 

and to watch me receive and open my gifts ...

 Mike was able to say hello to everyone as well ... !!!

I was still in shock with all that was going on ... 

all of them singing Happy Birthday ... !!!

I was panicking when they brought the Candle Cake arrangement ... thank goodness it was for a decoration and would not be lit ... !!!

It was an amazing evening ... and today on my actual Birthday ...

the Birthday wishes continued ...

thru emails ... texts ... phone calls ... cards ... FaceTime ... and Skype ...

Thank you so much Mike for making this a day I will never forget ...

I still can't believe you pulled this off ... 

knowing how extremely busy your work schedule is ... !!!

I love my beautiful bouquet of roses and my diamond earrings ... !!!

THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING ... I LOVE YOU ... !!!
