Happy New Year ...

December 31, 2016

The last day of the year ... turned out to be a beautiful day to go for a hike ...

strapping on the snowshoes and ventured off into the field and the woods ...

The sun was shining ... and the snow glistened in its light ...

loved seeing all the animal tracks in the snow ...

and there was one large rabbit somewhere on this path ... hopping around ...

Thought it was amazing how much snow was on the roof ...

of the bluebird house ...

It was time to head back to the house ...

and start getting ready for our ...

New Year's Eve celebration ...

We spent the evening with our friends ... at the St. Eugene Mission Golf & Casino Resort ...

enjoying a wonderful buffet dinner ... then going to the casino ...

trying out our luck on the slot machines ... dancing to the music ...

and gathering with our friends ... with all our fancy hats ... party favours and champagne ... counting down the seconds as we rung in the New Year of 2017 ... !!!

We continued to play in the casino ...

throughout to the wee hours with a few of us were coming out winners ...

before heading to our rooms ...

This was a wonderful New Year's Eve event package ...

we were able to spend the last day of the year ...

and the first day of the year with our friends ...

Ringing in the New Year ...

December 31, 2014 & January 1, 2015

Grandpa had a surprise for New Year's Eve ...

he bought a box of fireworks ...

to bring in the New Year with a bang ...

Our day was spent playing outside ... the kids loved going for rides ...

around the driveway and field ...

they had so much fun ...

We were all ready for midnight to arrive ...

Ella & I got into our PJ's ... 

and put a few snacks together before heading outside ...

The countdown was on ...

time to go outside and set up the fireworks ...

the kids were so excited ...

they spent the time playing in the snow ...

until the stroke of midnight ...

Happy New Year .... !!!

The boys had a blast ... it was a little to close and noisy for Ella ...

we went up closer to the house ...

After the fireworks display ...

the boys talked Grandpa into going for a few more laps around the driveway ....

being pulled behind the quad ...

After all the excitement ...

we had a nightcap and all were tucked into bed ...

They were three tired amigos ... !!!

New Year's Day Activities …

Ella got everyone up and dancing with her new Wii Dancing DVD …
Grandpa was sure shaking his booty …

Festivities began at the neighbours …
the guys bombing around on the quads … skating and having an intense hockey game …

Staying warm by the fire …
all enjoying visiting and having a few beverages …
to welcome the New Year …

A spectacular sunset over the mountains …
One of the neighbours asked if I wanted to have a picture taken …
with the mountains in the background …
I thought it was a great idea  … but
I didn't realize he had taken a few shots of me fooling around …
"Just look at this view" and "Ok, that is enough" … !!!

A wonderful potluck dinner was held inside the house …
it was a great afternoon and evening … !

New Year 2014 …

 

We spent a quiet New Year's Eve at home …

I enjoyed a steaming hot coffee … whipped cream … 

chocolate and a cherry on top …

just the two of us …

ahhhhhhhh…. !!!
