Yeah ... They're Finally Here ...

Nixon was so happy to be at grandma and grandpa's house...

jumping around and doing a farm animal puzzle with daddy ...

Daigen couldn't wait to jump into the pool ...

and go for a swim ...

Daigen loves the water ... !!!

It wasn't long before Nixon wanted to go into the pool as well ...

of course daddy and grandpa ...

joined in on the fun ...

later sliding into the hot tub to warm up ...

The boys were excited to go down to the garden ...

to gather some treats for the horses ...

Nixon was happy to discover the play area ...

with the swings ... slide and sandbox with all the Tonka toys ...

This was the first time that Nixon actually got to check out grandpas shop ...

he was only a year old the last time this family has been home in 2 years ...

Daigen was well aware of the stuff in the shop ...

Ian found the little 2-wheel bike ...

he brought it into the shop to put air in the tires ...

so that Nixon could take it for a spin ...

I think ... Ian had a different plan though ...

Nixon wasn't sure it was a good thing ...

that daddy was riding the little bike ...

It was Nixon's turn to try it ... without training wheels ...

finding the helmets ... and a bike for Daigen ...

they made their way ... riding the bikes down the driveway ...

well ... sort of with Nixon ...

Grandpa then Ian were running behind him ...

holding on until Nixon was able to ride it ...

Daigen had gone around the loop ... and wanted to go back into the hot tub ...

he knew grandpa would go in with him ...

After riding the bikes ...

the boys headed back down to the play area ...

Oma came out later in the afternoon ...and the boys were thrilled to see her ...We all had a great time visiting ... !!!

 

Keeping Busy ...

The grandchildren were up early and outside ...

I told them they could have a bonfire in the morning and tonight if they wanted it ...

since we were not able to have it last night ...

Busy little creatures this morning ... riding bikes ... quads ... dirt bike ... in the garden ... 

and starting the bonfire ...

Come lunch time ...

the coals were perfect for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows ...

mmmmmmmmm

James and Craig off riding their biked again ...

James decided that they needed a ramp to jump off ...

they packed the bricks and board and built it ...

and away they went ...

Later in the afternoon ...

Craig was helping Grandpa in the shop with the VW ...

Ella was waiting at the parts washers ... ready to clean any of the parts ...

Then a little girl from the neighbourhood ...

came to play with Ella ...

they had so much fun in the pool ... crafting then playing with the kitchen set in the basement ...

The kids found the old rope that was once tied to the tree ...

an old tire and wanted grandpa to put it up on the branch for a swing ...

They were all pushing and then chasing the tire ...

then grandpa decided he would take it up on the hill and let it go ...

it was hilarious watching them chase after it ... far into the field ...

grandpa felt sorry for them trying to bring it back up ...

that he went and got the quad to pick them up ...

When the boys were outside playing ...

I had started making a batch of cookies ...

Ella came in and helped shape ... and decorate them before putting them into the oven ...

a special treat to have at the bonfire ...

Sitting around the fire ...

chatting about the days activities ...

sipping on hot chocolate and eating fresh baked shortbread cookies ...

A few hours later ...

we were all ready to head inside ... and get ready for bed ...

and luckily ... just in the nick of time ...

as the rain started to fall ...

Visiting Oma ...

It was great to have the grandchildren ... visit with Oma ...

they were invited for lunch ...

and spend a few hours with her ...

 while Mike & I had some business to take care of ...

Later in the day ... Grandpa and James continued to work on the Lemonade stand ...

and then Craig helped with removing the body of the VW ...

pushing the chassis out ...

so they could drive the flat deck trailer in to take the car body away ...

James and Ella cruising around the deck on the little bike and skateboard ... !!!

Another wonderful day ... !!!

Nixon's New Ride ...

Nixon was getting to big for his other bike ...

so this is his new pedal bike ...

interested to hear how he is doing using the pedals ...

just love his spiky bike helmut ...

Daigen and Nixon sharing time together ...

with their new Peppa Pig Playhouse ...

they both love that show ...

Nice to see them playing together ... !!!

Picking Up the Grandchildren ...

July 7 & 8 , 2014

It's been a couple of crazy days ...

since we picked up the kids from their journey from Mexico back home ...

first thing was for the boys to get haircuts ...

some shopping ... packing up the toys ...

travelling back to BC ...

stopping at DQ for dinner ... which was quite the ritual ...

as each one of us wanted something different ...

I mean really different  ... James wanted McD's ... Craig A&W burgers ...

so we decided to get them and have our dinner in one spot ...

with all of us wanting a  DQ ice-cream ...

(yes and we did tell them this would be the last time we were having a buffet all over town ... )

Finally arriving at the house ...

first things ...

were getting the toys up and running ...

Oh NO ... !!!

Grandpa forgot the keys for the quad and dirt bike ...

but ... no worries ...

 Grandpa was able to get them started ... and we contacted Katie to mail the keys ...

After riding around for a bit ... it was time to jump in the pool ...

then heading in for bedtime snacks ...

and slumberland ...

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The Knight family spent the day ...

at the dirt-bike show ...

as Kendall wrote ...

"this is the nuclear cowboys crazy!!!!"

I was informed it was difficult to get still pictures ...

as all their heads were turning ...

watching the action ...

They had a great time ... !!!

Happy Anniversary to us ...  celebrating our 41st ... !!!

First Ride of the Season ...

We decided to haul out our bikes ...

and go for a ride ...

thru the valley ...

It was a beautiful day to be touring ...

 although we had a few glitches along the way ...

both of our chains had fallen off ...

no big deal  ... just stopped to put them back on ...

then I had an issue with the gears not shifting ...

so we made our way back home ...

stopped at the neighbours  ... for a quick visit ...

then continued on ...

Happy Mike was home ...

so that he could have a look at my bike ...

and get it fixed before our next adventure ...

Exciting News …

Oh what a happy day for James … getting a new bike … 

I was informed that his old one had fallen apart …

this one should last for quite a few years …

I love it James …

It was great to talk to everyone on Saturday on FaceTime …

I was surprised and thrilled …

when Ella wanted to read to me …

so away she went to her room … to get a few books … a lot of books actually …

to read to Grandma …

I loved it … she would read and then show me the pictures …

she did very well with her reading …

There will be no stopping her now … she enjoys her books … !!!

Out For Breakfast ...

We decided to go out for breakfast ...
after taking Daigen to school ...
Ian chose to take his motor bike out for a ride ...
there wasn't enough room in one vehicle for all of us ...
He was really upset about it ... NOT ... he was in his glory ... !!
 I was also given my Mother's Day gift ... !!!

A new Sun Hat for the garden ...
new gloves ... Butterfly ... and seeds to be planted ...
I love it all ... Thank You ... !!!!

While we were waiting for Daigen ... to be finished at school ...
we were shown some of his artwork ...
that he had done this morning ...
apparently he was "The Giggler" ... when his foot was painted for the picture ...
The ladybug magnet with his picture is for his school locker ...

Going home to play in the yard ... warm enough to bring out the wading pool ... !!!
