Crafting with Dagmar ...

Let the creating begin ...
decided to go visit Dagmar ...
bringing my gifted package of supplies to make a bunny ...
it wasn't long before we started working on them ...
being guided and directed by Dagmar on the procedures ...
thankful that she helped me out on one as well ...

Wasn't long before all the stitching was completed ...
on all five bunnies ...
(were multiplying like crazy) ... (think Dagmar is up to 15 now) ...
next was to sew up all the clothes to dress them ...
only two were completed this day ...
What a blast we had ... !!!
It was a joy to watch them evolve ... 

Bring The Steaks ...

Oma and Tante Paula ... were coming for dinner ...
they were hungry for T-bone steaks ...
so I provided the fixings ... most of the vegetable were  from the garden ...
and Oma brought the meat ...

It was a delicious meal ...
our steaks were large enough for all of us to have leftovers ...
it was definitely finger licking good ...
Coffee and Rhubarb Pie with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream ...
were served for dessert ...
MMMMMMM

 

We decided to go for a hike ...

 up to visit dad's favourite place ...

watching the sun set over the lake ...

He'll be in our thoughts ...

and

Forever in our hearts ... !!!

More Gifts ... For Me ...

Finally made a trip to Bull River ...
to pick up gifts ...
that Dagmar had brought back from Arizona ... a few months ago ...
it just seemed I couldn't find time to get there ...
I was just thrilled to see all the goodies in my package ....
for me it was Christmas in August ...
Thank you so much Dagmar for everything ...
maybe now I will finally have some time to start crafting again ... !!!

it was quite a trip for them ...

having truck issues along their journey ...

Grateful they made it to their destination safely ...

The Limo arrived early in the morning ...
to take them to the airport ...
Grandchildren were impressed that it had a bar ...
looks like they are enjoying themselves ...
sitting back and relaxing ...

Storm Rolled In ...

On Aug. 5th ...
two massive storms rolled into the valley ...
each with torrential rain pouring down ...
with bouts of hail ...
I was so worried that my garden was ruined ...

There was nothing I could do to stop the washout on the road ...
my concern was to divert the water ...
away from the house ...
so it did not flood the basement ...
so I dug a small trench to move the water ...

The beauty of the sky ... after a vicious storm ... !!!

This was a difficult day for me ...
saying goodbye to both of the families ...
Wishing them well on their new journey on this road of life ...

Let's Just Play Today ...

Nixon was having a great time ...
opening up the tap on the overfilled rain barrel ...
playing in the water ...
and taking time to shoot a few hoops ...

Daigen just thrilled that Grandma brought her iPad ...
the first thing he looks at is the Flash Mob Bisset Singers video ...
Nixon feeding the Cookie Monster a few cookies ...
then we were off to Lola's house for dinner ...

On my last day with the boys ...
the plan was to take them to the park ...
giving mom & dad time on their own to finish packing ...
well that plan didn't work out because of rain ...
so next best thing was to go to McDonald's play centre  ...
 have lunch ...
and play for hours ...

Arriving in Millet ...
the first thing the boys wanted to do ...
was to chase bubbles ... they love BUBBLES ... !!!
we had so much fun ...

Next was helping dad out ...
with the tools ...
Nixon was so intent on fixing the drill ...
figured sticking in the screwdriver was the answer ...

Daigen was being so silly ... kept jumping up and sticking his face in the camera ...
thought it was great fun ...
it was great because sometimes I have a hard time getting pictures of him ...
the boys decided they needed a break ...
and perhaps working on the DVD players in the truck ...
would be a big help for daddy ...
(wasn't long before dad came along and out went the boys)
guess dad didn't need that kind of help ...

 

Still so much to do ... loading the trailer ...

Stopping For A Visit ...

Stopping in to say hello to the kids ...
decided to stay overnight before heading up to Ian's ...
arrived in time to enjoy a lovely dinner ...
then afterwards headed to DQ ...
for dessert ...
It was a lovely evening ... !!!

Early morning ...
up with the grandchildren ...
I didn't get a lot of sleep ...
as I had wiggle worms sleeping with Grandma ...
We played a few card and board games before breakfast ...
 and then the this empty bin was calling to them ...
who needs toys ... ???
they had so much fun ...
crawling into the bin ... being locked in ... then released ... !!!
(mom & dad were not to thrilled with this game ...)
they needed the container for packing ...

We had breakfast and then it was time for me to continue on my journey ...
heading north ...
to see Ian, Kendall and the boys ...

Roberts Family Visit ...

Well  ... the Roberts family arrived late on the 24th ...
when the kids awoke in the morning ...
they requested waffles for breakfast ... after finishing off platefuls ...
they were out to the pool ... swimming ...
all before 9:00 am ...
After pool time ... the kids went down to the play area ...
building castles in the sand ... swinging and sliding ...
Oma came out for the morning to see the gang ...
the kids were really excited to see her ...!!!

Then it was "LUNCH TIME "...
and when I asked what everyone wanted ...
it was unanimous "GRILLERS" ...
so I made a whole pile of grilled cheese sandwiches ...
served them with ketchup and pickles ... !!!
I used to make them all the time when the kids were all home ...
after having their parties ...
filling them up so that they would go to sleep ...

Even Oma couldn't resist the grillers today ... !!

Roberts On The Move ...

The Roberts family were on a venture ...

travelling and visiting family and friends ...

stopping in at Ian & Kendall's ... for a quick visit ...

the girls loved being able to sit in Ian's car ...

Then off to Nathan & Katie's home ...

all the kids had fun swinging ... riding and playing ...

spending the night ...

then travelling west to visit us here ...
