Old Fences ...

 

 

It is time for us to tear down the old fencing ...
along the field and crown land ...
we have a long stretch ahead ...
to the end post ...

 

Removing the staples ...

rolling up the old barbed wire ...

stacking the old posts ...

Hauling Them Out ....

 

We spent the day ...
hauling and clearing out the trees ...
from in front of the house ...
setting them down in the field ...
for us to de-limb and stack the logs ...

 

We took turns ...
either driving the tractor ...
or wrapping the chain ...
around the stump of the trees ...
here I in my bush attire ... !!!

 

Having a bonfire ...

to clean up the branches ... 

and the old stumps ...

Mike is keeping a close eye on the fire ...

and enjoying the view around him ... !!!

It was a good working day ... !!!

New Set Of Wheels ...

 

Craig was so excited to get his new bike ...

he had outgrown the other one ...

mom & dad are hoping ...

that this bike will last him a few years ...

Easter Bunny Arrived ...

The kids arrived around 11:00 in the morning ...
to go on their Easter basket and egg hunt ...
it was wild for about 15 minutes ...

 

I had a busy few hours cooking up Ham dinner ...

while the gang went outside to play ...

throwing the flying disc ...

and blowing bubbles with the large bubble wand ...

Nathan & Mike were in the trailer checking it out ...

and also up at the storage shed ...

finding more of Nathan's kid books and toys ...

We had dinner early so that ... 

it wouldn't be so late for Nathan and the family to head back home ...

A special phone call from Kendall ...

talking with Daigen & Nixon ...

just rounded out this lovely day

A Hiking We will Go ...

It was a wet ... rainy ... gloomy day ...
the kids were itching to go outside ...
I told them they could go ...
as mom sent all their rain gear ...
and Grandpa agreed to take them on a hike ...
here they are waiting for Grandpa ...

 

They started up the trail behind the house ...
the snow was quite deep in spots ...
and was difficult for Ella to treck thru ...
so Grandpa brought her back to the house ...
the boys found an old rotten stump ...
and started to tear it apart with their walking sticks ...
 

Venturing further up the road ...

the kids came upon a tree hanging over their pathway ...

so Craig started to hit it with his walking stick ...

and try and move it out of the way ...

but it was rotted at the root ...

and fell on top of his head ...

and knocked him down ...

thank goodness it was the size of a branch ...

no harm done to his hard noggin'

then they continued to climb up the banks ...

but soon ended up sliding down the slippery slope ...

Craig loosing his footing ...

and rolled over the edge ...

James sliding down to meet him ..

I had to laugh when they came home ...

all of them ...

were covered in mud ...

their faces were speckled ...

and they were exhausted from traipsing ...

 thru the mud and snow ...

The kids were playing in the basement ...

and found Grandpa's singing Trout ...

they came upstairs for Grandpa to make it work ...

so after installing new batteries ...

the fish was ready to entertain us ...

they were having so much fun ...

having the fish grab their noses ...

(Grandma and Grandpa were happy when we were able to turn it off ... !)   

Movie & Swimming ...

The kids are obsessed with Grandpas old movies ...
they think they are just the best thing ...
sitting here relaxing and watching Abbott and Costello ...
while I was getting lunch made ...
before we headed into town to go swimming ...

 

 

We had a great time at the pool ...

the kids loved the wave action ...

while floating on the mats ...

then they went down the waterside ...

after a few hours we were all water logged ...

and headed back home ...

the kids were so exhausted from the water ...

they were in bed early ...

and we never heard a peep out of them ...

I believe they were asleep before their heads hit the pillow ... !!!

Fallen Trees ...

Running down to Oma's ...
so much for going for a walk ...
I did have the stroller for Ella ...
but the boys ran the whole way there ...

 

After arriving at the house ...

the kids were exhausted ...

so we called Grandpa ...

to come and pick us up ...

it was an interesting ride back to our place ...

Grandpa seemed to be having some trouble with the gas pedal ...

and the brakes ...

it was quite a jerky ride ...

the kids were laughing so hard and loving every minute of it ... !

Oh No ... Lost The Fridge ...

Mike has been working in the camper ...
making sure that everything is in good working condition ...
we have known that the fridge was not working ...
so Mike decided to take it out and see if it can be repaired ...
Craig was there to help Grandpa ...
take it up to the shop ...
BUT ...
it didn't quite  make it ...
because it was so muddy ...
it ended up sliding off the dolly ...

 

They were able to get it back on the dolly ...

and dragged and pushed it up the driveway ...

 into the shop ...

for inspection ...

What an ordeal ... !!!

Craig and Grandpa ...

head out to the shop quite a lot ...

telling me they have work to do ...

Ya right ... !!!

I found out how much work  ...

playing computer and sitting watching TV ...

they have enjoyed their time together ...

Craig was able to get the old joystick working again ...

after all these years of being boxed up ...

Uncle Ian's old bike works again ...
Craig and grandpa have been working on the bike ...
since the last time they were here ...
it needed some minor repairs ...
and a new tube for the tire ...
Hooray ... Craig took it out for a test ride ...
in the mud ...
he was so excited to finally be able to take it out ...  !

with one project completed ...
still have a couple more bikes ...
 to be worked on ...

While Craig was out in the shop with Grandpa ...
James and Ella with rolling cookie dough ...
into balls ...
after flattening them ...
they put sprinkles on ...
I believe more sprinkles ended up ...
in their mouths and all over the floor ...
they were good little helpers ...
and we had a good time ...
great conversations begin in the kitchen ...

 

Craig was delighted to find this suitcase ...

that we had stored in the garage ...

brought here to our home ...

it was a fun evening ...
playing hide and seek among all the boxes ...
