It was very stressful for all our families ...
Never did Nathan & Katie expect to be evacuated from their home ...
they were given notice in the afternoon on Thursday ...
to head out of town ...
only problem was there were a lot of roads closed ...
due to the flooding ...
They did manage to pack up and head to BC ...
via detours ... washouts ... with only single lane traffic ...
So grateful when they pulled into the driveway ...
safe and sound ...
although they were all very tired ...
It was quite a day of turmoil for the grandchildren ... !!
They were informed today from a neighbour that their home was ok ...
no water nearing their area ...
Still no word as to when they can return home ... !!
It had rained here all day and night on Wednesday and Thursday as well ...
torrential downpour ...
causing our basement to flood too ...
spent time with a mop ... bucket ... lots of towels ... sopping up the water ...
and diverting water away from the house ...
in between taking care of little Nixon ... and during his nap ...
he was such a good little helper ... and then Oma helping out ... watching Nixon ...
as I tried to get information to Nathan and Katie about road conditions ...
My troubles were nothing compared to what the kids were going thru ...
Mike also made it safely to his destination ...
My heart goes out to Nathan and his family and all the other flood victims . M.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your family is safe, our hearts go out to all the families that have been flooded out..I hope the water recede soon and everyone can go back home..what a destructive force nature can be.
