In The Far North …

I arrived in Fort St. John to visit Mike on his days off …
We decided that it was too cold to walk around … so
today our road trip took us up the Alaska Highway …
past Pink Mountain …
which gets it's name when the sun is shining on it at a certain time …
it is all pink …
It was a beautiful sunny day for a drive … !!

Our first stop was going to see the second plant in the area … at Mile 156
that Mike had helped manage the construction of …

We continued travelling on the highway to our next stop … Mile 172 …
just before the Buckinghorse River …
turning on the dirt road to the site …

Mike in front of his office …
I had a tour inside … meeting some of the crew …
thought it was cute seeing Daigen's mouse pad on Grandpa's desk …
Also drove around the site …
checking it out …

Mike showed me his accommodations …
trailer right on site …
he is so close that he can walk to work …
On our way back to Fort St John …
we stopped in at the General Store of the Pink Mountain Campsite …
was an interesting little place …
then on to Wonowon  to pick up some homemade Beef Jerky …
at the General Store there …
across the highway was one of the open camps …
for all the workers on these construction …
rows and rows of trailers …
stuck out in the middle of nowhere …

Hoping to tour the townsite next …
