Celebrating Ella's Birthday ...

Ella wore her new outfit to school ...

that

she received for her birthday ...

She loved it ... !!!

Before heading to school ...

the boys gave Ella a big hug and kiss ... plus opening a few other little gifts ...

James gave Ella the Pokemon card ...

that she really wanted ...

After school ... Ella wanted to help decorate her cake ...

putting on lots of sprinkles ...

We had spagetti for dinner ... then it was time for Birthday cake ...

we lit the candles ... sang "Happy Birthday" and waited for Ella ...

to blow out the candles ...

Ella then opened up a couple cards that were delivered to the house ...

One happy little girl ... !!!

It had been a few busy nights for the grandchildren ...

so it was perfect to stay home ...

and do some new crafting ...

Once again my dear friend Dagmar ...

shared this craft of making Paracord Bracelets ...

At first the grandchildren were wondering how the heck...

were we going to make these ...

With a few instructions ...

they were on there way ... creating these bracelets ... !!!

(This kits give you the full instructions ... using the box as a guide for length ...

paracord and buckles ... to make eight bracelets ...)

They were in a creating frenzy ...

they loved it ...

I must say it was a very enjoyable ... quiet evening ...

with helping them with any issues that arose ...

Craig made the orange, red and green paracord bracelets ...

James was creative and made a multicolour bracelet ...

While the children were in school ...

it was my time to try and make a Paracord bracelet ...

I was amazed at how easy it was ...

I was ready to show them how to make them ... !!!

Craig, James and Ella are all into creating ...

with Perler Beads as well ...

Making designs on a grid ...

then covering them with parchment paper ...

for me to use the iron ...

to melt them ...

making sure all the beads were sealed together ...

We had a lovely evening crafting together ... !!!

Off To Las Vegas ...

We spent a few days in Las Vegas ...

it was moms gift to us  ...

for our birthdays ...

and the bonus was  ... that mom came with us ... !!!

We stayed at Treasure Island ... 

the location was perfect for us to walk around and see all the sights ...

It was sad to see that the pirate ships were no longer working ...

I remember seeing the production when I was here 10 years ago ... 

We really enjoyed the Bellagio and Caesars Palace ... 

we toured the strip and bought our tickets to the shows that we wanted to see ...

The water fountain display to music at the Bellagio was amazing ... 

After a delightful day out walking the streets ... and a delicious Buffet dinner ...

we went to the Bellagio to watch the  Cirque De Soleil  "O" show ...

we were not allowed to take photos once the show started ...

did get a few from the pre-show act ... 

This is a must see production if you ever go to Las Vegas ...

Fantastic ... !!!

The following day (Saturday) we toured the other end of the strip ... 

checking out the Wynn Hotel ... It was spectacular ... 

The atrium had a floral display of a Merry Go Round made of roses ... 

we then headed to the Venetian and watched the street actors perform ...

a rain storm within the building ...

and then the seen the gondolas floating on the canals  ...

listening to the gondoliers singing ...

This was a nice place to sit down and relax ...

This evening after another delicious buffet dinner at Treasure Island ...

we walked to Planet Hollywood ...

to see the performance of Jeff Dunham ...

Oh my goodness ... it was the best comedy act that we have seen in a long time ...

our bellies were hurting from laughter by the time it was over...

it was so much fun ...

We also saw a couple of Jeff's special cars ... The Batmobile and Hot Rod ... 

Earlier in the day ... Mike stopped in at a Cigar Shop ...

Oma bought him a cigar for him to enjoy after the show ...

Doesn't he look like the character "Walter" 

ha ha ha ... !!!

Thank you mom  ... it was a wonderful little get-a-way for all of us ...

Birthday Celebrations in Houston ...

November 22 & 23, 2014 

We were treated to have a special day at the Nail Salon ...

receiving manicures and pedicures for our birthdays ...

Oma making dinner for our birthdays ...

she has been hungry for a "Bradl"  (pork roast Austrian style)

with flour dumplings and cooked cabbage salad ...

So happy she was hungry for it ... it was delicious ... !!!

Now for dessert ...

Oma wanted to have a Corinarita ...

(she had her first one here back in May)

Ian ended up joining her ... sharing a birthday moment ... 

All three of us ... celebrating our birthdays ...

Oma's November 25th ... mine December 1st and Ian on December 5th ...

We had a great time ... some of us a little more than others ... !!!

Thank you Ian, Kendall and boys for our lovely gifts ... !!!

Exciting Times ...

Mike and I ended up getting new iPhones ...

and we decided to give Oma my old one ...

Once it was all set up for her ... I took it into town for her to play with ...

before we went on our trip ... !!!

It was so awesome watching her ... 

the joy in her eyes when she realized just what all could be done with the iPhone ...

just like her iPad plus having the phone ... all in one ... !!!

What a wonderful group of friends Oma has at Joseph Creek Village ...

they presented her with this special card ...

knowing that she will be celebrating her birthday ...

while visiting Ian, Kendall,  Daigen and Nixon ... !!!

Actually three Birthdays will be celebrated at once ...

Oma's ... Ian's and mine ... !!!

Here For The Weekend ...

Nathan and the grandchildren arrived late on Thursday night ... 

they were coming here to go Grouse hunting ...

since the boys received a .22 rifle for their birthdays ...

James on Nov. 4th and Craig on Nov. 24th ...

After breakfast they set up a target to sight in their rifles ... 

Nathan's included ...

both the boys did really well with hitting the target ... 

getting very close to the centre ...

Oma was plugging her ears as the shots were quite loud ... 

it was great that Oma was there to see the gang ...

Grandpa and Nathan fired up the dirt bikes and quad for the kids to go for a ride ...

would probably be their last time riding this year ...

Oma playing Trouble with the kids while lunch was being prepared ...

then Craig wanted to see dad's and Uncle Ian's hockey card collection ...

Oh my goodness ... had forgotten how many cards they actually had ... !!!

The kids were really excited when they saw that we had an ice cream cake ...

celebrating their birthdays together ...

The boys loved receiving money from Oma ... 

and Pokeman cards from us ...

we also contributed money towards the rifle ...

After lunch the gang went out hunting ...

searching for Grouse ...

while I stayed behind to continue preparing a turkey with all the fixings ... 

for dinner ...

It was a great day all the way around ... !!!

Busy Party Day ...

A busy and exciting day for Nixon ...

he was invited to his friends birthday party ...

it was held at the mall ... with the big Carousel ...

and Mary Poppins arrived to surprise the birthday girl ...

the kids had a great time riding on the Carousel ...

before we headed out to go shopping ...

at Oma's favourite store ...

Mike's good friend invited us for dinner ...

at the Spindletop Revolving Restaurant ... in downtown Houston ...

we had not seen him in about 20 years ...

He was delighted when Mike contacted him ...

to let him know we were going to be in the area ....

Britt had been working with Mike a long time ago in Calgary ...

we had invited him to our home to spend the weekend with us ...

He felt this was the perfect place for us to get together ...

We enjoyed a lovely evening ... visiting ... reminiscing ... laughing and eating ... !!!

It was great spending the evening together ... it seemed as if no time had passed at all ...

The boys stayed up a little later ...

as they were on a bit of a sugar high ...

and needed to run off some of the energy ...

before going to bed ...

and was delighted to see my birthday package from Texas …
Wonderful little treasures were inside …

Daigen did a great job on signing his name on my card …

Right across the street from the La Venta Hotel … was this huge modern shopping centre …
James picked out a Lego kit for his birthday …

We then wandered thru the mall … stopping at the Pet Shop …
and the boys were able to hold a snake …
Grandpa decided that it would be a good idea to take the kids to the arcade …
they had a blast … lots of tickets won to exchange for little trinkets …

The children received money for Halloween … so they each bought themselves toys …
Craig chose the Lego truck and boat …
James bought a Lego Helicopter …
and Ella bought Polly Pockets …

November 6, 2013 … Leaving San Gil, Mexico …
Heading to the Queretero Airport … to fly back home …
lots of hugs and kisses were given out before we boarded the plane …
