It was a beautiful morning ... Kendall, Nixon and I ...

thought the conditions were perfect to have a soak in the hot tub ...

While Kendall went to pick Daigen up from school ...

we decided to go for a walk to the park with Nixon ...

he was adamant that he did not want to go with mommy in the car ...

With grandma and grandpa visiting ...

he was able to have a break in picking Daigen up ...

Mike and I were invited to spend the morning with Daigen at his school ...

for Grandparents' Day ...

We couldn't have planned it any better with booking our trip ...

 

I received a special gift from the boys ... (my birthday gift) ...

a beautiful leather bracelet with a special message that ...

"All things are possible"

along with the Autism symbol and the boys first initials ...

I was brought to tears ...

something I will cherish forever ...

Thank you so much Ian, Kendall, Daigen and Nixon ... !!!

So excited to spend the morning with Daigen at school ...

 

Celebrating Ella's Birthday ...

Ella wore her new outfit to school ...

that

she received for her birthday ...

She loved it ... !!!

Before heading to school ...

the boys gave Ella a big hug and kiss ... plus opening a few other little gifts ...

James gave Ella the Pokemon card ...

that she really wanted ...

After school ... Ella wanted to help decorate her cake ...

putting on lots of sprinkles ...

We had spagetti for dinner ... then it was time for Birthday cake ...

we lit the candles ... sang "Happy Birthday" and waited for Ella ...

to blow out the candles ...

Ella then opened up a couple cards that were delivered to the house ...

One happy little girl ... !!!

It had been a few busy nights for the grandchildren ...

so it was perfect to stay home ...

and do some new crafting ...

Once again my dear friend Dagmar ...

shared this craft of making Paracord Bracelets ...

At first the grandchildren were wondering how the heck...

were we going to make these ...

With a few instructions ...

they were on there way ... creating these bracelets ... !!!

(This kits give you the full instructions ... using the box as a guide for length ...

paracord and buckles ... to make eight bracelets ...)

They were in a creating frenzy ...

they loved it ...

I must say it was a very enjoyable ... quiet evening ...

with helping them with any issues that arose ...

Craig made the orange, red and green paracord bracelets ...

James was creative and made a multicolour bracelet ...

While the children were in school ...

it was my time to try and make a Paracord bracelet ...

I was amazed at how easy it was ...

I was ready to show them how to make them ... !!!

Craig, James and Ella are all into creating ...

with Perler Beads as well ...

Making designs on a grid ...

then covering them with parchment paper ...

for me to use the iron ...

to melt them ...

making sure all the beads were sealed together ...

We had a lovely evening crafting together ... !!!

 

Last Night In Houston ...

Daigen showing grandma his plants that he had started from seed at school ...

hope to get pictures of the Sunflower and cucumbers growing ...

Making new friendship bracelets with the grandchildren ...

then spending the evening watching movies and eating popcorn ...

later bringing out the glow stick bracelets ...

the boys wanted to go to bed with them ...

tucking Daigen in bed ... and say goodnight ...

Nixon had fallen fast asleep on the floor ... 

It was a busy day of playing ... 

Lovely thoughts of Dad ... on this day of his birth ...

Leaving Houston ... heading for Seattle then Spokane ...

 driving home to our final destination ...

We had a great time visiting our family in Houston ...

always sad to say goodbye ...

Excited to see them once again ...

in the summer ...

when they come home for a visit ... !!!

Easter Fun ...

Easter morning was crazy in the house ...

kids searching for their basket ...

and all the hidden Easter Eggs ...

Ella was excited to receive more elastics and a new round loom ...

to make  more friendship bracelets ...

The boys could hardly wait for Grandpa ...

to give them a hand ...

in setting up their new little remote control ...

helicopters ...

Breakfast was an issue ... trying to get it made ...

with these little choppers flying around ...

finally the kids were hungry enough ...

and stopped to enjoy  waffles ... fruit and whipped cream ...

After breakfast we all headed outside ...

to fly the stunt kite ...

that the Easter Bunny had left for the family ...

We had another busy afternoon ... 

working on the tree fort ...

today they were going to put the roof on ...

the grandchildren were determined to get this done ...

before they headed back home ...

This has been a wonderful experience for everyone ...

the children learning ... with Grandpas guidance ...

 gathering construction material ... 

and working with the hand tools ...

A job well done ... !!!

Bunnies and Bracelets ...

Well the bunnies finally made it to the grandchildren ...
the bunnies flew on the plane with me to Wisconsin ...
they were a hit with the passengers ... when they saw them ...
as I was still sewing on a couple buttons ...

I also had another surprise for them ...
had pre-made a few bracelets for them ...
some of them ... the kids put on their bunnies ...
we had a great time playing and creating ...

 

Carlos, Eva, Natchos, Diego, and Jose ...

were delighted that the children loved them so ...

and happy to venture to their new homes ...

It really warmed my heart that the grandchildren loved them ... !!!

Now it will be Grandma wanting to see the bunnies on FT and Skype ... !!!

Crochet Friendship Bracelets ...

When Craig awoke this morning ...
he noticed that I had my coloured yarn on the dresser ...
and had asked what I was making ...
I told him that my dear friend Dagmar ...
had shared this nifty easy way to create friendship bracelets ...
and before I could finish them ...
I needed to get his wrist size ...
Once that was determined ... I had seven made before we even got out of bed ...
he was so delighted ...

James was the next to wake up ...
he wanted the same ones as Craig ... and Ella did too ... when she saw them ...
They were really interested in learning how to make the bracelets themselves ...
so I gathered up more yarn and crochet hooks ...
and began to give them lessons ...
I was amazed at how quickly they were able to start creating them ...

As you can see ... they continued to craft ... making a necklace too ...
Ella wanted one for her ankle ...
so Grandma whipped one up ... !!!

I also made up a care package of yarn ...

for the kids to take back home with them ...

as well as giving them the crochet hooks ...

I heard that they were still creating the bracelets ...

and sharing them with their friends ... !!!
