Tsunami in Japan ...

Tsunami in Hawaii
Waiting patiently to hear from mom and Kurt as they were to leave Hawaii today for home in BC ...
Flights have been delayed ... wishing them a safe journey  ... I think it will be a long day for them ...
will keep checking for information ...
A couple pictures of Hawaii  ... a damaged pier and large waves ... the tsunami was generated by an 8.9 magnitude earthquake in Japan ... it hit causing some damage around the island...

Tsunami in Japan
Devastating images of the Tsunami in Japan ....

Waiting to hear from Takuro  from Japan ... I met him about 10 years ago ...
he was a student attending The College of the Rockies ... here on a 2 year term ...
to return to Japan to teach math ...
I had gone to a Locals Music event at the Studio Stage Door  ... Tak was in the foyer playing the piano ...
an incredible musician ... and playing all the songs that I love to sing ... I introduced myself and ended up sitting down beside him and started to sing ... instant connection ...  we continued to get together weekly ... practised our songs and then performed at a few music events ...
we managed quite well with the language barrier ... many laughs trying to get our points across ...
at times using pen and paper or our hands...
I also remember his passion for baseball ... he had always wanted to play ...so he joined a team ...
what fun he had ... they only thing he didn't own was a glove ... so on his birthday ...
I presented him with a gift ... his own Baseball Glove ...
the joy in his eyes and the smile on his face was all worth it ... he was so grateful ... even slept with it ...
Tak fell in love with Canada and decided that he wanted stay here instead of returning to Japan ...
but sadly life happens ... Tak received word that his father was ill ...
and before he made it back his father passed away ...
Tak ended up staying ... feeling responsible to take care of his family ...
He is still very involved with his passion for music and photography ...
he has also written a number of books
... an amazing young man ...
Pray that all is well with him and his family ... we continue to stay in touch ...
 sending love & light
