The sun was finally shining ...

lilacs in full bloom ...

was surprised to see an invasion of spiders ...

on the bush ...

Just stood and watched them for awhile ...

I believe they were happy the sun was shining too ... !!!

Digging Trenches ...

 

Had a break in the weather ...
for Mike to start digging the trench ...
for the water lines ...
and the pipes to hook up to the boiler ...
for the in floor heat in the shop ...
 

Here Mike is clearing trees ... 

then continuing on with digging the trench ... 

Mike's time for working ...

has been limited ...

due to the fact that it has 

been raining so much the last few days ...

hoping for nice weather soon ...

to complete this project ...

On my travels to see the Grandchildren ...

I took the back road ... Coal Trail ... by Longview ...

and came across this farm ...

with this huge herd of Buffalo ...

Just had to stop and take a few pictures ...

I'm used to seeing cows ...

in our fields ...

so this was a real treat ...

Grade 1's Perform ...

The Grade 1's from James's school ...
went to the Long Term Care Home ...
to put on a little concert for the Seniors ...

 

They sang 3 songs ...

and then danced to the Mexican Hat Dance ...

so cute ...

This Grade 1's from this school has for many years ...

spent every Thursday after lunch at the LTC facility ...

reading to the Residents ...

as well as performing a year end concert ...

What a wonderful event for both the young and old ... !!!

This Grandma was happy to be able to see them perform before heading back home .... !!!

Craig's Turn ...

Today it was Craig's turn playing ball ...
he just had a practise today ...
mainly tossing and catching the ball ...
we thought it may have been cancelled ...
due to the rain ...
but low and behold it was just a quick storm ...
Ella and I sat under my trusty umbrella ...
watching the kids play ...

 

Ella had enough of watching Craig ...

so we headed to the schoolyard ... 

to play on the play centre ...

she had a blast as I spun her around on the tire swing ...

her laughing was infectious ...

After the game ...

for a treat ...

I took the kids to get a Blizzard ...

from Dairy Queen ...

(we brought one home for daddy as well ... the BIG KID... !!!)

Special Day At School ...

I had the privilege of taking Ella to her Introduction into Kindergarten ...
for the new school year staring in Sept.
They had stories read ... sang ... danced ... and then mingled with all the kids ...
playing with toys ... doing crafts ... playing games ...
I think this will be a good transition ...
from pre-school to Kindergarten ...
Ella had a great time ...
 

Here the kids were playing Duck...Duck...Goose ...

while waiting for the School Bus ...

to take them on a ride ...

around the town ...

We then met up with mommy ...

and Ella told her all about her experience ...

when we all went out for lunch ...

at the train station ...

the restaurant was in a old Passenger Coach ...

It was a chilly evening ...
the kids didn't mind ...
they were excited to have a game ...
James was ready to bat ... daddy was pitching ...
he got a hit ... and ran to first ...
getting a pep talk from mom on third ...
she will give the signal when to head for home ...
Run ... James ... Run ... !!!!

 took a turn at being back catcher ...
 

Ella's turn up to bat ...

daddy giving her tips on how to hold the bat ...
she did manage to hit the ball ...
and made it all the way to home base ...

 

Craig was getting bored ...
so we headed to the other end of the schoolyard ...
and found a basketball ...
one of the other kids who was supposed to be playing ball ...
decided he would rather shoot baskets ...
although that didn't las very long ... and he was called back to his team ...

 

It was grandmas turn to step in a play with Craig ... 

we chased each other back and forth on the court ...

shooting baskets ...

when we could ...

(yes ... I did get a few)

we had a great time ...

and then we went for a walk back to the ball game ...

I figured I would stand still for Craig to take a picture ...

really didn't need an action shot ...

Morning At The Pool ...

I arrived at my destination ...

to help out with the grandchildren ...

as Katie had started her orientation day shifts with her new job ...

It was time for Ella to go for her swimming lessons ...

It was nice to be able to watch ... 

and spend time with her ...

Ella is working on her Friendship bracelet ...

James had called me before I left home ...

to bring more yarn for them ...

as they had used up all of the other yarn ...

Let's Bake Today ...

 

Finished masterpiece with Ella's help ...

 

It was the perfect day to bake a cake ...
cool outside ...
and we needed something for dessert ...
Ella was a big help ... measuring and mixing the dry ingredients together ...
then adding the liquid ...
giving it a gentle stir ...

 We played some card games ...
 while waiting for the cake to cool down once it was finished baking ...
then using the mixer for the icing ...
of course the best part is licking the beaters ...
and scraping out the bowl ...

I helped her with spreading the icing over the cake ... 

then Ella completed the decorating ...

with chocolate chips ...

Everyone was thrilled to have chocolate cake after dinner ... !!!

Planter Drain Plate ...

 

I finally picked up my plate ... from Caroline ...

at the Mud Frogs' Studio ...

I have a plant hanging up on the log beams ...

and had a plastic plant plate underneath it to catch the excess water ...

It was quite flimsy and would spill over onto the couch ...

So, I had asked Caroline to make me one ...

Caroline suggested that it should be made out of Red Clay ...

with this beautiful glaze ...

It is perfect for my plant ... 

almost seems a shame to cover it up ... !!!

I do have other plants that need plates as well ... hope to pick up some more soon ... !!!

Thank you Caroline for this gift ... I love it ... !!!!!

There were 3 foxes at one time ...

by the time I walked down the driveway ...

only 2 stayed to have their photographs taken ...

They were the stars in my eyes ...

Off To The Bridge ...

 

 

Daigen loves to go to the bridge down the road  ...

we pick up stones along the way ...

so that he can toss them into the creek ...

this is a good form of exercise ...

for him to burn some of the energy bundled up inside ...

having to ride his bike there and back home ...

It is a lovely walk ... enjoyed my time with both of them ... !!!

Kendall's Birthday ...

Kendall spent the morning ... digging in her flower garden ...
planting all her new little shrubs and plants ...
this is what she wanted for her birthday ...
to spend some time creating ...
without any interruptions ... !!!

 

A few friends were invited to celebrate Kendall's birthday ...
the guys were in charge of the BBQ ...
they did a fabulous job on the baked potatoes and steak ...
the kids had so much fun playing and running around ...
Kendall was able to sit back and enjoy her day ....

 

While Oma and I watched the children inside ...

the guys were sitting out on the deck ...

the girls went down to the shop ... "Girl Time"

(just like the guys do ... shop talk) ...

to admire Kendall's car with her new set of rims & tires ...

Cousin Bill was delighted to go for a ride in Ian's Rat Rod ...
His eyes were as big as saucers ... when Ian fired it up ...
and cut loose on the road ...
Bill was amazed with the power it had ...

 

And of course dad had to go for a ride also ...
this was the first opportunity he had ...
his remarks were ...
"It's a wild machine ...!!!"
and
"Can understand why you need goggles ...!!"

Almost like flying when Ian steps on the gas ... !!!
