Thanksgiving Day Dinner ...

The gang arrived on Saturday ...
to deliver our travel trailer ...
plus had a quick snack before they headed out ...
to visit Katie's parents ...

October 11, 2015
It was going to be a beautiful day ...
my morning was spent preparing the stuffing for the turkey ... and all the fixings ...
baking a pumpkin pie and bread ...
All done before the Knight family arrived ...
Ella came in with a bag full of colourful leaves ...
that she gathered in the morning ...
She wanted to add these leaves to her pressed leaf collection ...
in the large book to be dried ...
We also placed the extra leaves in the arrangement ...
for the centre piece on the dinner table ...
The guys decided to go out on the quads ... riding around the property ...
and doing a little target practising out in the field ...
Ella stayed with me ...
we headed down to the garden to check things out ...
and give Katie some quiet time with her studies.
Ella was delighted that there were still strawberries and raspberries to be picked ... and eaten ... !!!
We then went into the house ... to start peeling potatoes for dinner ...
Ella couldn't believe how large some of the potatoes were ...
the one in her hand ended up weighing a 3 lbs ...
Only needed a couple more to fill the pot ...
with Ella's help the task was done in no time ...!!!
The table set ... turkey finished cooking ... carved ...
and placed on the table ... along with all the side dishes ...
we were all able to sit down for dinner ...
The kids were well fed and had lots of energy ...
they just love teasing grandpa ...
by rubbing his fuzzy head ... and laughing their heads off ...
Not sure if they figure their wishes will come true by doing so ... !!!
While Nathan was helping me with putting away the left over turkey ...
the kids talked grandpa into starting the fire ...
and going into the hot tub ...
Nathan and Craig ended up joining them once their jobs were done ...
They had a great time soaking ... !!!
Oma and Joe made their way home ...
and the rest of us ...
ended up watching a movie and munching on popcorn ...
before we all headed to bed ...
It was an awesome day ... with lots to be thankful for ... !!!
Wishing our family in Houston, a wonderful day ...
as they celebrated Columbus Day ... !!!
