My New iPad2

What an exciting day for me ...

could hardly wait for the end of the working day ...

to pick up Mike and head to the Apple Store in the Chinook Mall ...

Today was the day to purchase my new addition to my Apple family ...

This is the iPad2 with wifi & 3G ...

all set up and ready for me to start working, creating and playing with it ...

It's amazing ...

just like my iTouch only bigger and unbelievably better ....

(the iPad2 is an iTouch for seniors ....)

This is my hot pink magnetic cover ...

to protect the screen ...

and also turns the iPad off as soon as you close it ...

It will also fold up to use as a stand ...

This was just the best day ever ...

I'll be busy for quite a few days ...

Where's Grandpa ? ...

Smothered With Children
Sept. 24 & 25

Grandpa was trying to take a few minutes to rest his feet ..

the kids had a different plan ...

After all the children left from the birthday party ...

it was time for Nathan & Mike to work on the truck ...

needed some minor adjustment with the timing ...

Grandpa and Craig were checking out the old Red Dodge truck ...

Craig had just been informed that dad was going to sell the truck ...

as it needed an extreme amount of work ...

he wasn't too pleased as he thought it was going to be his truck when he got older ...

dad had to reassure him that it may not be this one ...

but he will get a truck in the future ...

James and Ella decided to go and play on the trampoline ...

while the other guys worked ...

just having too much fun ...

James was excited that I took a picture of him doing a somersault ...

Early Sunday morning before the kids were leaving to go play hockey ...
I was pleased when Ella put on her new Rubber Boots ...
so that I could take a picture ...

and the boys were playing Mario ...

waiting to leave for their full day of hockey ...

and a birthday party at the Edmonton Zoo ...

We had a lovely weekend ...

Heading to Millet to say a quick hello ...

to Daigen & Kendall ...

on our way back to Calgary ...

Friends gathering their gifts for Ella ...
for her to open on her special day ...

Ella received a lot of beautiful gifts and toys ...

we gave her Rubber Boots ... fuzzy covered journal ...

and a new Dance outfit ...

Katie sent me this picture of Ella in her new dance outfit ...

This is Ella's gift from mom & dad ...

a Nintendo DSi XL ...

now she can play her own games and create ...

instead of using the boys ...

Craig & James gave her a carrying case for her DSi ...

Ella's Princess Cake ....

she had help with blowing out the candles ...

by a few kids standing close to her ...

had to chuckle when James came over with his bloody nose stuffed with Kleenex ...

he didn't want to miss out ...

After cake and running around  ...

it was time to play a game ...

Ella was first to be blind-folded ... twirled around ... 

and guided towards the door ...

to place the flower sticker ...

in Tinkerbell's hands ...

(a girl version of Pin-the-Tail on the Donkey)

the kids a great time at the Birthday Party ...

that's it for another year ... !!!

Ella's Birthday Party ...

Fun Begins with Lunch

Ella's actual birthday is Sept. 9th ...

her daddy was working in the USA ... 

he flew in on Friday to celebrate her special day today ...

all the preparations completed ...

waiting for the kids to arrive to have lunch ...

Daddy and grandpa were in charge of cooking up the burgers & hotdogs ...

the girls and small children sat at the table inside ...

and the bigger energized boys were sent outside on the deck ...

After lunch and goodies ...
the kids went outside to play ...
before opening presents and having birthday cake ...!!!

Slipper Delivery ...

Last Stop

Craig, James and Ella ...

woke up to find Grandma and Grandpa  ...

had arrived ...

they were so excited to finally get their new slippers ...

Craig and James belong to the Scouts Organization ...

in the Beavers group ...

they had a bottle drive for a fund raiser ...

scheduled before Ella's birthday party ...

Nathan and grandpa took the boys around the neighbourhood ...

 to collect what they could ...

the boys were thrilled at the amount stuffed into the back of the truck ...

Job well done ... !!!

Ella stayed home with mom and grandma ...

helping with the birthday preparations ...

then getting dressed in her party gown ...

Our princess was ready for the fun to begin ...

Temporary Home ...

Quaint Cottage Size House

This is the front view of little house ...
where Mike is staying during the week  ...
while working in Calgary ...
until he retires in the New Year ...

Side entrance ...

The house is about 80 years old ...

 in the older part of Calgary ...

situated on a good sized corner lot ...

with a little backyard ...

and old garage ...

all the rooms are very small ...

(with some renovations done)

it has a trap door to access the basement ...

with very steep stairs going down  ...

to a dirt floor ...

in total it is around 700 square feet ...

Definitely a unique experience for us again ...

takes us back to our life ...

At The Creek ...

Throwing Stones ...

We went for a walk in the morning ...

before we left for the UC baby appointment in the afternoon ... 

we stopped and spent some time at the bridge ...

Daigen loves to throw stones into the water ...
mom had to hold on to him tightly ...
as he leaned over the rails ...
afraid he might fall or dive in ...

Daigen was exhausted ...

after spending the afternoon at the neighbours ...

bath and cuddle time over ...

he fell fast asleep in daddys' arms ...

Ian carried him to bed ...

we all had a flashback of the ultrasound picture of Nixon ...

the boys look so much alike ...

at one point Nixon had his hand over his face ...

just like his brother ...

sleep tight little one ...

UC Baby Day ...

3D Ultra Sound

This was an exciting day for all of us ...
Ian & Kendall at the UC baby 3D Ultra Sound Office ...
waiting for the technician to start the scan ...

Lorraine (Kendall's mom) and I ...
were honoured to attend this special event ...
it was also a live broadcast to those who were invited to be a part of this ultrasound ...
(due to some technical issue they were not able to see it
but it will be re-broadcast at a later date)
a little brother for Daigen ...
AND here he is ...

Nixon Ian Michael Knight

We witnessed this miracle live for about 30 minutes ...

it was amazing watching him move around ... 

stretching, yawning, kicking his mom ...

opening his mouth to try and get his thumb and fingers in ...

and was finally successful ...

Along with the DVD of Nixon ...

Ian & Kendall ended up with 162 still photos as well ...

Going For A Bike Ride ...

With Mom & Grandma

I arrived Monday afternoon ...

Ian & Kendall were on their way back home ...

from picking up Daigen from school ...

we had a lovely lunch ...

and then it was time for all of us to go for a walk ...

As we were walking on the road ...

(country road ... no traffic)

I spotted quite a few Ladybugs along the way ...

we stopped to let Daigen check them out ...

he had one in his hand ...

 one flew on his coat ...

and on his hat ...

After we returned from our walk ...

Daigen went to help dad work on the tractor ...

Ian was replacing the fan and the water pump ...

Daigen went into the shop ...

to check out the bolt bucket ...

Daigen spent enough time working ...

it was time to be creative ...

few rocks and paint ...

perfect .... !!!!

It was nearing dinner time ...

Kendall & I went into the garden ...

to dig up some fresh potatoes for dinner ...

Daigen was standing amongst the raspberry bushes ...

 wondering where all the berries had gone ...

It was a busy but fun day  ... !!!
