Canning Day ...

The Process Begins
Aug 1, 2011

Cutting the Kokanee fish into pieces ...
to be placed into the brine ...
leaving them 1 hour ...
before putting then into the jars ...
After rinsing the fish ...
they are ready to be packed into jars ...
then placed into the pressure canner ...
to process ...
for  1 hour and 50 mins ...
The 30 fish was enough to fill 10 jars ...

Process finished ...
pressure canner cooled ...
removed this batch of canned Kokanee ...
to be enjoyed ...
throughout the year ...
a few jars will be shared with family and friends
( hmmm ... I don't think these will last too long )
Oh darn ...
guess we better plan a few more days of fishing ...
Such a tough job ... to be in the boat ...
out on the water ...
relaxing ... playing ...

catching fish ... !
