Christmas Fudge ...

December 24, 2015
Had to hurry ... the fudge is almost ready to be whipped ...
the Knight guys ... taking turns with the beater ...
Oh my ... it started to get very stiff ...
left Nathan to scrape the fudge into a buttered dish ...
Craig was there with the spatula to help spread and flatten it before it hardened up ...
I came into the kitchen to get the best part of making the fudge ...
scraping the pot while the boys ate the fudge from the beaters ...
Nathan cut the fudge into pieces once it had hardened ...
and all of us couldn't wait to taste it ...
Another Christmas Eve tradition is to watch the Alister Sims "Scrooge" ...
then the boys prepared Santa's plate of cookies ...
a huge carrot for Rudolph (James had to cut the carrot in half) ...
and a glass of eggnog ready for the night ...
We also had a chance to visit with the Robert's family on FaceTime ...
we had celebrated these traditions with them for many years ...
until the families went to live their lives ...
in different parts of the country ...
I do believe they still follow these traditions ...
We were waiting for Katie to return home from work ...
so we could open a few presents ...
The grandchildren were so excited to receive their gift from Oma ...
as were Mike and I getting our gifts too ...
They were able to open one gift from us on Christmas Eve ...
Craig receiving a Super Mario Chess set ...
James a series of books with Jokes and riddles ...
and Ella a pair of pink earrings ...
Oma was surprised when she opened her gift from the Knight family ...
2 tickets to the Jubilations Dinner Theatre ...
We rounded off the evening ... tucking the kids into bed ...
snuggling up with them ...
and reading "The Night Before Christmas" ...
