My Worm Tower ...

I had done some research on keeping worms in my garden ...

This article caught my eye ...

I was so excited that I showed it to Mike ...

and he thought it was a good idea ...

Mike had some extra pipe behind the shop ...

and he said he would make the worm tower for the garden ...

The worm towers were made ...

put into the ground ...

some worm food added ... (veggies) ...

then I dug up some worms from the ground along the fence ...

and put them in the worm tower ...

Hoping that they will hang around longer in this area ...

Kendall's Car ...

May - June 2016

Ian decided it was time to work on Kendall's car ...

They were given this 1932 Ford Model B Mustang ...

from Kendall's dad ...

which originally belonged to Barry's grandfather ...

It was going to be a big project ... but Ian was excited to get it done ...

In May Ian and his family also received their Green Cards ...

these give them permission to stay in the United States as long as they want to ...

no more worrying about getting Visa's to work in the USA ...

Ian is very talented in the fabrication of parts ...

He ended up making custom bent spindles ...

and the rear end mounted with trailing arms ...

When Ian had sent these pictures ...

this is what he had written ... and it touched my heart ...

"Thought you would like to see Opa's hammer ...

I've been using to build the car as well as his plaque always looking over the build."

On June 11 ... Ian sent these pictures ...

"Finally mounted the rad, utilized some new old stock clips from Ernie's Auto body. Also made a mount for the power rack and pinion."

On June 21 ...

Ian had made custom shock mounts ...

We are so excited for Ian & Kendall ...

can't wait to see it done ...

Of course it still has a long way to go ...

I do believe he will get the 32 done before Mike finishes the VW ...

they both love tinkering with cars ...

 

 

My Potatoe Boxes ...

After our trip home from Arizona ...

Mike went to the shop to start working on the two potato boxes for the garden ...

I found that the raised beds were not deep enough to grow enough potatoes ...

All the boards were measured ... cut and predrilled for assembly ...

A couple of days later ...

the potato boxes were finished ...

ready to be taken down to the garden ...

I am so excited to see how these are going to work this season ...

On March 31st ... Ella helped grandpa bring the potato boxes down to the garden ...

I was still working on the new area for these boxes ...

putting in a retaining board and filled it with dirt and gravel ...

finally finishing on April 3 ... after the Knight family left for home ...

The two frames were set in place ... the other sections were stored by the raspberry bushes ...

I decided to prune the raspberry bushes as they were already starting to bud ...

and cleaned up the raised beds getting them ready to till ...

It was a beautiful sunny day to play in the garden ... !!!
